"Work At Home and Make Money"

The fields of internet marketing, multi-level marketing, and in-home party sales have never been more popular. If any of these kinds of extra income producing ideas appeal to you, then you owe it to yourself to check them out. These businesses are making it easier for you to work at home and make money.

But these aren't the only fields of endeavor you can start and operate from home, with little or no investment, and learn as you go.

If you type, you can start a home-based typing service; if you have a truck or have access to a trailer, you can start a clean-up/hauling service. Simply collecting old news papers from your neighbors can get you started in the paper recycling business. More than a few enterprising housewives have found success and fortune by starting home and/or apartment cleaning services.

If you have a yard full of flowers, you can make good extra money by supplying fresh cut flowers to restaurants and offices in your area on a regular basis. You might turn a ceramics hobby into a lucrative personalized coffee mug business. What I'm saying is that in reality, there's literally no end to the ways you can start and operate a profitable make money work at home business.

The first thing you must do, however, is some basic market research. Find out for yourself, first-hand, just how many people there are in your area who are interested in your proposed product or service, and would be "willing to stand in line and pay money for it."

This is known as defining your market and pinpointing your customers. If after checking around, talking about your idea with a whole lot of people over a period of one to three months, you get the idea that these people would be paying customers, your next effort should be directed toward the "detailing" of your business plan.

The more precise and detailed your plan - covering all the bases relating to how you'll do everything that needs to be done - the easier it's going to be for you to attain success. Such a plan should show your start-up investment needs, your
advertising plan, your production costs and procedures, your sales program, and how your time will be allocated.

Too often, enthusiastic and ambitious entrepreneurs jump in on an make money work at home project and suddenly find that the costs are beyond their abilities, and the time requirements more than they can meet. It pays to lay it all out on paper before you get involved, and the clearer you can "see" everything before you start, the better your chances for success.

Now, assuming you've got your market targeted, you know who your customers are going to be and how you're going to reach them with your product or service. And you have all your costs as well as time requirements itemized. The next step is to set your plan in motion and start making money.

Here is the most important "secret" of all, relating to starting and building a profitable home-based business, so read very carefully. Regardless of what kind of business you start, you must have the capital and the available time to sustain your business through the first six months of operation.

Specifically, you must not count on receiving or spending any money coming in from your business on yourself or for your bills during those first six months. All the income from your business during those first six months should be reinvested in your business in order for it to grow and reach our planned first year potential.

Once you've passed that first six months milestone, you can set up a small monthly salary for yourself, and begin enjoying the fruits of your labor. But the first six months or operation for any business are critical, so do not plan to use any of the money your business generates for yourself during that period.

If you've got your business plan properly organized, and have implemented the plan, you should at the end of your first year be able to begin thinking about hiring other people to alleviate some of your work-load.

Remember this: Starting a successful make money work at home business is not a means towards either a job for yourself or a way to keep busy.

It should be regarded as the beginning of a work at home business that will grow and prosper, with you as the CEO. Eventually, you'll have other people doing all the work for you, even running the entire operation, while you vacation in Mexico or Hawaii and collect or receive regular income from your initial efforts.

One fantastic way to start your own make money work at home business is with internet marketing. Using the internet to make money is an easy way thousands of people all over the world are already doing.

You Can Make Money with Your Own Internet Business

There is great news! You too can make money on the Internet! That's  right, the fortunes being made on the Internet are not reserved for  the very wealthy, the big corporations, or even the very skilled.

In  fact, it doesn't take that much for you to begin making money on the Internet.  And, if you will simply commit yourself to following a few simple rules,  you too can become an Internet Millionaire!

Here is what you  need to know to begin to build your business on the Internet.

1)  Sell Something You Are Passionate About

Every single person that  I have ever met who had created massive success in their lives was  passionate about what they sold. They loved their products. They  cherished them, and they shared their passion with their clients and sold  millions of dollars of their products and services!

What are  you passionate about? What keeps you up late at night and gets you out  of bed long before your alarm clock goes off?

Take time to  discover your passion. It will mean the difference between a  mediocre life and a life full of passion! You CAN build a business with ANY  product or service you have to pay money to obtain.

Think about  the "Pet Rock." You can sell anything and make a fortune! And you  can build a business based on a brand new, never before seen product, although  that may require a little more time and effort.

2) Uncover Who  Shares a Passion For Your Products

To be a success, you must  offer your product to those people who share a passion for what you  offer. WHO are these people? And most importantly, WHERE are these people?

What publications do they read? What web sites do they visit?  What companies already do business with them? Who's client list can  you leverage to reach these people at the lowest possible cost?

The  secret of success on the Internet is to know who wants what you have  and to know how to reach them at the lowest possible cost.

3)  Create an Irresistible Offer

Let's face it, you and I buy when  we are presented with the right offer... especially when what is  being offered is something that we really want! Your success is  going to be based on your ability to create offers that make people respond.  The more irresistible the offer, the more you will sell.

Remember,  price is only one reason why people will buy from you, so just having  the  lowest price is not always going to win you more business. You've got  to think outside the box. Come up with offers that include more than  just the main product or service offering. Now is the time for you  to be creative, to use your
imagination and to create an offer that  is dozens of times more valuable to the buyer than anything else  that they can get anywhere else.

4) Let Them Know What You've  Got!

Once you've got the product that your passionate about,  you've discovered who else shares your passion, you know how to  reach them, and you've created an irresistible offer to go along  with it, now you've got to get the word out! Use newsletters,  magazines, newspapers, e-mail (not unsolicited, however) use
anything you have access to let as  many people as possible know what you've got!

If you're really  creative, it's a good bet that the media will pick up on your offer  and you can end up with tens of thousands of dollars of free promotions.

5) Test and Refine Your Offer

Once you let enough people  know about what you have, take a look at how many people saw your  offer and then how many of those people actually bought what you  offered. If you like the numbers, keep going. Buy more advertising,  tell more of the media, and keep on selling!

If, on the other  hand, you were not entirely satisfied with the numbers, re-work your  offer and then double-check your market and how you are reaching out  to them. It could very well be that you have the right offer but are  simply not reaching the right audience. Try a different market with  the same offer, or try a new offer with the same market. It may take  you a few tries to get it right, but it's well worth the effort!  And I promise you that you will be happy with the results!

6)  Deliver on Your Promises Promptly

Don't you just love to get the  product or service that you ordered quickly, or at least know that  it has been shipped promptly? Most of us do. When we buy, we are  excited and can't wait to get the benefits of what we just purchased.

Your  customers are no different. They want to know when they place an order with  you that you will do your best to get them what they want as soon as possible.  We all have stories of companies that took weeks to ship our order and  we all know we won't be doing business with them again anytime soon, no  matter how good the offer may have been.

When the order reaches  you, get in the habit of making it a priority to get it invoiced,  packed and shipped. You'll create a very loyal client base that will  buy from you again and again if you do what you say you will do in a prompt  and courteous manner.

Your Success is Up to You!

It's  not hard to build a successful business, whether you do it from your kitchen  table, the basement, the garage, or an office space, you can be very successful  if you follow a few simple rules.

I have helped thousands of  people build successful businesses on the Internet and I know what  it takes to really make a business profitable. It's actually quite  simple; give the customer more than you promise in less time than you promise.  In other words, "under promise and over deliver."

Just look at  any company you consider a success and I'm sure you will find  they  follow these simple rules.

How much money do you need to start an online business

While online business start up costs are nothing compared to the brick-and-mortar businesses, you still need to make some minimum investment to launch a web business.

When you hear people say, "start a business on a shoe-string budget", remember this: a shoestring also costs something. And what for some people "small investment" means $1,000, for others it might mean $50 or less.

So, how much exactly do you need to have available to start an online company? Let's review the costs.

*Please, note: I am assuming that you already have a computer and the Internet access - otherwise, you wouldn't be reading this article :-) I am also assuming that you are starting a basic online business - not an e-commerce web site with
advanced shopping cart system selling hundreds of items, which would require a bigger investment.

1. Domain Name

If you are serious about your business, you want to choose and register a domain name - www.yourdomain.com. You can purchase it for as low as $16.00 a year. Some web sites offer it for less, you just need to do some searching. Give a lot
of thought to your domain name - after all, it will represent your company. Take your time and do a real thinking about your Domian name. It should be something unique, memorable and with humor.

2. Web Site Hosting

Hosting is an absolutely necessary component to any web business. Your web site has to reside on a web server, and hosting companies provide you with space on their servers for which you have to pay for. Of course you can choose a free hosting company at first (such as Geocities.com and Angelfire.com) but for reliability try to switch to a paid one. I use Pair.com and my hosting fee is just $5.95 a month.
I also had to pay a one-time $28.00 set up fee.

3. Web Site Design

Now, the biggest stone in the web business set up - web design. You can choose to do it yourself by picking up a book for beginners, going through the free online tutorials, or purchasingquality training materials to learn how to set up your own web site. Or you can hire a professional designer. Because web design is a relatively simple task for any computer-literate person, just about anyone can call themselves a web designer today. That's why fees vary greatly from $10 to $200 an hour for web design. You can probably hire a college student to do an entire web site for you for $200.

That's it for start up costs.

Things like promotion, Search Engine submission and, copy-writing you can do yourself at first, via free methods and manual work. After you start making money with your web site, you will be able to afford automating and outsourcing
many of these tasks.

Remember, you have to make a choice: you are either going to invest money or time into whatever you want to do. At first, time was the ONLY thing I could afford. But then I decided to outsource a few things (some people have more copy-writing
talent than I do ;-) and invest a few bucks into my business.
The key is to invest it wisely.

Pay for something only when you are absolutely sure it will bring results. Otherwise, spend more time researching and observing other Internet marketers and their strategies.

As you start making money with your online business, your purchasing power will increase. A year ago spending a $150 on an autoresponder services sounded crazy to me and impossible to afford. Now I look at it as a necessary cost of running a
business and saving time following up with my customers.

Let's summarize your online business start-up costs for your first year of operation. If you start making money the first year, your expenses might go up since you will probably be more willing to invest:

- Domain Name: $16.00
- Web Hosting: $6.00 x 12 months + $28.00 set up fee = $100.00
- Web Design: $50 (training materials) or $200 (outsource)
- Totals: $166 (do-it-yourself) or about $300 (outsource)

As you can see, you still need to spend a little money to get started. You can spend more or less money, depending on how much time you are willing to put into your business.

If $166.00 seems like a lot to you to spend in 12 months, then you might want to try a completely free web site offered by Geocities or Angelfire, as I mentioned before. Your business won't be as effective because there will be no company domain
name or a well-designed web site, but you will at least get your feet off the ground and get a feeling of what it's like to run a web business.
